Chantel McGregor debuts her new songs at Darwen Library Theatre

This June, Chantel McGregor will return to Darwen Library Theatre, debuting new songs, reworking tracks from her previous two albums and performing some rare cover versions.

At 14, Chantel was told by a major label that she had a “great voice, but girls don’t play guitar like that!” Wisely ignoring their comments, she enrolled at the Leeds College of Music and became the first student in the college’s history to achieve a 100% pass mark at BTEC with 18 distinctions.

If you measure an artist’s prospects by the company they keep, then Chantel has been moving in the right direction. Early in her career, Chantel was invited to perform with Joe Bonamassa, on two of his UK tours.

Chantel released her highly anticipated album, Lose Control, in October 2015 on her independent boutique label Tis Rock Music, the follow up to her critically acclaimed 2011 debut album, Like No Other.

After years of touring and festival appearances, Chantel returned with a vengeance with ten new songs that not only salutes contemporary rock but shows her gradual transition from conventional Blues to a harder, bigger and bolder rock sound with progressive influences.

As part of her 2018 UK and European tour, Chantel McGregor has included some exclusive and intimate solo acoustic shows. This is a one off show not to be missed.

“Chantel is hard to categorize and pigeon hole, which in this day and age of labels and boxes is a good thing!’
All About Rock

“McGregor isn’t just a guitar player – she does the vocals too and they are equally impressive. She’s got a great voice and the variety of songs on the album allows her to demonstrate a range of styles vocally.”
