You’re My World: A Celebration of Cilla Black and The Beatles from The Cavern to The London Palladium

You’re My World, a celebration of Cilla Black and The Beatles, heads to Darwen Library Theatre this April.

This fun packed show celebrates the Brit-Pop music scene of the 1960s, recreating the atmosphere of The Cavern Club and glamour of performing to royalty at The London Palladium.

During the show Cathryn Osborne captures Cilla’s infectious personality and brings you all her hits of the 1960s, including ‘Love of The Loved’, ‘Anyone Who Had a Heart’, ‘Alfie’, ‘Step Inside Love’ and ‘You’re My World’.

Joining her will be a tribute to The Beatles performing some of their greatest hits – ‘I Want to Hold Your Hand’, ‘All My Loving’, ‘Help’, ‘Twist and Shout’ – and many more.

The show begins in the early days of Liverpool’s now world famous Cavern Club. The Beatles made their first appearance at the club in 1961 and over the next two years made a further 292 appearances.

The Fab Four invited ‘Swinging Cilla’, a cloak room assistant at the club, to the stage. Cilla’s impromptu performances at The Cavern and The Iron Door Club impressed audiences and The Beatles’ manager, Brian Epstein.

The second part of the show takes the audience to the glitzy London Palladium!

The small, sweaty clubs of Liverpool are a distant memory; the leather gear is out and posh tailored suits are in. The Fab Four are world famous and Cilla’s knockout rendition of ‘Anyone Who Had a Heart’ went on to become her first number one, and is still to this day the biggest selling single of all time by a British female recording artist.
