Christmas Time and Space

A favourite with Darwen Library Theatre audiences, singer and Musical Director James Loynes and his choir, United Voice are landing in town to present their Christmas show. “Christmas Time… And Space!” will have us time travelling around the world, as we collect Christmas traditions from throughout the years. Packed with festive musical hits, it’s the perfect start to Christmas for all the family!

Welsh baritone James is noted for his velvet voice and was recently invited by Silver Screen Records in London, to sing the Andrew Lloyd Webber classic ‘All I Ask of You’ for their album ‘100 Greatest Musicals’ along side stars of the West End, including Lesley Garrett and Dave Willetts.
He’s was invited by film composer Debbie Wiseman and Academy Award-Winning lyricist Don Black, to appear as guest vocalist in the concert “The Magic of Christmas” at London’s Cadogan Hall, performing their song “Nothing Grows On Gold”, accompanied by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and is now a regular guest at other concerts.
James is also a vocal coach and in 2007 he created the United Voice show choir. This year they performed their anniversary concert “A Decade of Song”, celebrating ten years of performances, including ‘The Sound of Musicals’ at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and “The Joy of Christmas” at Blackburn Cathedral, with the Northern Chamber Orchestra.
